Who We Are

WHO WE ARE

Lexington Presbyterian Church Mission Statement:

We seek to be a community that does justice, loves mercy, and walks humbly with God in

Lexington, Virginia, throughout Rockbridge County, and to the ends of the earth.

Micah 6:8

Lexington Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), a Christian Congregation. We are an active community of over 350 members.

We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with each other.

The Presbyterian denomination is a form of Christianity democratically organized to embrace the faith common to all Christians.

We recognize two sacraments:

  • Baptism In baptism, God claims us as beloved children and members of    Christ's body, the church.
  • Communion (The Sacrament) Invites those who love Jesus Christ to        gather at his table and share in a meal of bread and wine, remembering his last meal with his disciples before his death.  We invite all Christians to participate, regardless of age and denomination.

We believe in God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Church, Forgiveness of Sin, Life Everlasting, and the Bible, the inspired word of God. By studying the scriptures, we can begin to know of God’s faithfulness, constant love, and eternal goodness. Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome here at Lexington Presbyterian Church.
