You Are Now Entering the Mission Field

The organizational structure of the Lexington Presbyterian Church is an outgrowth of its mission. The work of the church is done through its committees, and each committee has multiple sub-committees. We encourage all church members to consider serving on a committee. Although this may sound like a daunting task, members find that in addition to performing a valuable service they gain fellowship and support from their committee co-workers.

Administrative Committee

Provides an orderly and ongoing means for Session to manage and steward the financial and personnel resources of the church, and to provide support and counsel to the pastor (who serves as head of staff) concerning financial and employment issues.

Adult Discipleship Committee

Creates, promotes, encourages, and supports classes, seminars, events, and small groups for the Lexington Presbyterian community and, as the committee and congregation are led, for our broader community.

Children, Youth, and Family Ministry Committee

Helps provide vision, oversight, planning, and support for church ministries that disciple children and youth (ages 0-18) and their families.

Hospitality and Care Committee

Helps transform lives by sharing Christ's love with those seeking fellowship in our church community, and to minister to those in our faith community who are shut-ins, sick, or unable to get to church on their own.

Nominations Committee

The Nominations Committee solicits suggestions from the congregation, and submits a slate of individuals who have agreed to serve as Ruling Elders.

Outreach Committee

Shares God’s care and compassion within the local community and the larger world through various outreach projects.

Property Committee

Efficiently manages the property (buildings and grounds) of Lexington Presbyterian Church.

Worship Committee

Provides for the worship life of the church.

Culinary Ministry

Prepares meals, baking cakes and breads, and serves meals for congregational events and for the community at large on special occasions.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry creates shawls and lap robes to provide spiritual comfort and warmth wherever there is a need. They serve as a tangible reminder of the care and love extended to our frail members, those undergoing medical procedures and comfort in times of loss, sadness and stress. We celebrate births, retirements, graduations and many joyful events.
