CHRISTIAN EDUCATION FOR ALL AGES

Our Christian Education Programs offer a broad range of options for learning about God’s love for us in Christ and for becoming more faithful disciples.  Classes take place during the Sunday School hour – 9:45am – 10:45am, September through May – as well as at other times of the week.

The part of our church building which houses the children’s program is decorated with murals painted by talented church members, depicting a “Faith Village” from Biblical times.  Art, music, storytelling, film and dramatizations are used to make lessons fun and engaging.  Children’s Enrichment is offered during the second half of the 11:00 worship service to children in kindergarten through second grade.

Classes for the youth of the church delve more deeply into what it means to follow Christ and are discussion-based.   The church offers a confirmation program which involves group meetings with pastors and youth leaders, as well as one-on-one engagement with a personal mentor.  Our youth group meets regularly for fellowship and fun.

The adult Christian Education program offers a variety of classes taught by pastors and lay members, during the Sunday School hour and throughout the week.  Recent classes have included Old and New Testament history, in-depth study of single books of the Bible or books by prominent church writers, and exploration of topics such as prayer, the Holy Spirit, systematic theology, or institutional racism.  We strive to offer classes that address the needs and interests of the congregation and that enrich the spiritual life.
