As a youth participant at Lexington Presbyterian you will have many
opportunities to get together to have fun,
to EAT, to serve, and to learn about Jesus and yourself. In addition to the local
happenings, we are active with the youth of
Shenandoah Presbytery.

January, 2012
Sunday School classes will resume for MS and HS classes on Sunday, January 8 - look for new classroom locations in Dunlap.
Other happenings:
- Sunday, January 8, 6:30-7:30 PM, youth group dinner
- Sunday, January 15, 6:30-7:30 PM, youth group dinner
- Saturday, January 21, youth group trip to Massanutten water park (10 AM-3 PM) for swimming and lunch. Cost will be about $28 per person. We must know who is coming by Monday, January 16 to make reservations and plan for transportation. Please contact Sarah Hill or Linda Moreschi (blmoreschi <at> embarqmail <dot> com) if you plan to attend.
- Sunday, January 29, 6:30-7:30 PM, youth group dinner
February, 2012
- Sunday, February 5: The Souper Bowl of Caring at both services. This special offering benefits RARA, Meals on Wheels and the Blue Ridge Food Pantry. After the 11:00 service, we'll have lunch and then take the canned goods we've collected and go over to the new RARA food pantry on Spottswood Drive for a tour by Chip Honsinger.
- Sunday, February 12: Youth Group dinner 6:30 - 7:30
- Thursday, February 16: Youth Gifts and Talents Auction - 5:45 dinner followed by the auction. The money we raise that night will go not only to supporting our mission programs but also to furnishing/decorating our new youth recreation room! (p.s. we were able to get an Air Hockey table with the money raised from the babysitting night)
- Sunday, February 19: Youth Group dinner 6:30 - 7:30
- Ash Wednesday, February 22: 5:45 dinner, 6:30 service. The youth will participate in the service and help with the table clean-up
February 26: 5:30-7:30 -- Movie Night! We'll have dinner and watch Soul Surfer. (no teen bell practice)
The 2011 confirmation class is now complete.
We invite eighth graders and any older youth who have not been confirmed to attend these classes. Bill Klein will lead the classes - usually a couple of times a month. Adult mentors will also assist as you explore what it means to be a Presbyterian Christian, learn to express your personal faith, and examine your own gifts that may be used toward the mission of the church. More information about confirmation will be available early in the new year.
