Lexington Presbyterian welcomes these new members

Marion Brown

Marion Katcher Brown

Marion Brown is a native Iowan. She and her husband, Howard, retired to Arizona in the mid-70s. Last Novermber, she moved to Kendal at Lexington to be near her daughter, Barbara. She's an avid bridge player and fan of the Phoenix Suns and other professional basketball teams.

Her Webster Center apartment is decorated with examples of her hand-weaving and basket-making.

John Morman

John Morman

John and his wife Mary Jo are the owners of "Celtic Tides" on Nelson Street. John is originally from Rosyth in Scotland, and Mary Jo is from Longford in Ireland. They have lived in Lexington since 2005, after living in San Diego for 22 years prior to that.

John is a member of the Lexington Lions Club, currently serving as President, the Scottish Foundation of the Virginia Highlands, currently serving as Vice President, and is a current member of the Lexington Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce.

John and Mary Jo have three children and three (soon to be four), grandchildren. In his spare time, John enjoys reading about the Civil War, and Stonewall Jackson in particular, and has been learning guitar.

Gretchen Smith Sukow

Gretchen is pictured here with her family: husband, David, who teaches at W&L; daughter Ingrid (age 5); and son, Carl (age 8). The family lives on Marshall Street. Gretchen has been teaching in the Kindergarten and 1st Grade Sunday School Class and works very hard in our Vacation Bible School.
