2008 budget: 2008 CE operating budget is $19,300, with additional restricted spending allotments of approximately $10,000 available for youth mission, scholarships, lecture funds and campus ministry.

Equipping the Saints:

In the spring of 2006, a task force was formed to address the problem of not having enough people available to teach Sunday school. Hardin Marion, Beth Thompson, Bill Klein, Olivia Patton, Marie Grasso, Ron Telsch and Margie Page (chair) met to plan a year long leadership training program based on the book Equipping the Saints. Presenters from our church and others were recruited to teach 13 weeks of Bible Basics, 13 weeks of Foundations of Faith, and 13 weeks of leadership and teaching techniques. Approximately 40 people have come to this class held on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour. To date 13 different teachers have led classes. This program will end with 8 weeks of church history and several teaching workshops in April and May.

Vacation Bible School:

In 2007, 100 children, 25 youth and 52 adults participated in VBS, hosted by Lex Pres in collaboration with Trinity United Methodist and R. E. Lee Episcopal.

2007-08 Rally Day: 8/26/07,

an introduction to Christian Education opportunities within the church to open the church school year, combined with congregational fellowship during the Sunday School hour. Rally Day for 2008-09 will be held 9/7/08.

Christmas Pageant:

"Is This the Road to Bethlehem?" was presented during the 12/23/07 worship service, with 49 children and youth participating.

2008 Festival of Faith:

The theme for the 2007-08 Festival of Faith was "taking care of God?s creation." Guest minister/speaker Mark Wallace discussed "The New Green Christianity: Why the Church is Vital to Saving the Planet."

Overall 2007-08 CE participation:

During 2007-08 we offered 19 ongoing Christian Education classes/programs and estimate 157+ children and adults participate as students, and 35+ as teachers/leaders. This does not include participation in special programs such as Vacation Bible School and the Festival of Faith. 50+ adults are involved in Christian Education leadership roles (committees, teachers, advisors, etc.).
